March Festival Update
The 2011 Lower Town Arts & Music Festival is heating up with 40 artists juried into the event. That’s 50% more activity on the street than last year, with artists from Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana, Illinois and Missouri. Festival goers will find even more of a selection of handcrafted jewelry, paintings, prints, ceramics, mixed media, sculpture, and glass.
The Lower Town Neighborhood Association will bring a stunning conspiracy of talent, energy and ingenuity to this year's Arts and Music Festival with wandering actors in full renaissance costume performing new plays to capture your imagination. WKMS will have their very first live satellite broadcast from our main stage on Saturday to start the day off with “Music from the Front Porch”, and the Taste of Paducah will be back in full force.
Mark your calendars for May 20 – 22 to attend this year’s festival where you’ll find a little of something for everyone, including a children's tent, a “fun street,” a balcony theatre, wandering minstrels, and sidewalk chalk. (Please note that dogs are welcome, but must be muzzled and on a leash.)
For three days we intend on enchanting you, delighting you, and making you proud, once again, that you call Paducah home!
